I won’t speak long on this because so many people already have, and they can do it far better. But, I just want to say that all our prayers should be with his family right now, with his wife and kids and parents. As well, we should pray for TPUSA. Charlie filled some enormous shoes, and losing someone like that… there is no replacement. Please pray too for the poor college students who had to witness that vile act of murder. I cannot imagine how scarring that was.
Please pray as well for those in Evergreen — it’s a smaller story, but two students have been injured and the shooter killed himself. It’s a somber day today, and added on is the remembrance of 9/11/2001.
But let’s not forget that evil contrasts with good, and that in times of strong evils, there are strong goods. There are the heroes who ran into the collapsing Towers, the men who searched through the rubble for survivors. There are brave men and women across the nation who have defended others in school and church shootings, putting their own lives on the line.
And there were people like Charlie Kirk – bold, unafraid, and living life to the fullest for the kingdom. He was a fantastic debator and worked to raise awareness of some of the forgotten issues of our time, like child trafficking across the border. He was an example to me of what you could do without a college degree. I even had the blessing to hear a talk of his in person and took a lot of value away from that. We lost quite a shining star with Charlie.
But…
Don’t let the evil of this world make you jaded. Don’t let it make you forget the good, either.
We know how the story goes. There must be conflict, defeat, and grief before the end where light wins.
Charlie Kirk has won his race. He has fought the good fight and received his prize.
Do not despair. Charlie is in heaven, and we shall join him one day. May he be an example of courage and unashamedness to all of us.
