New Year, New Blog

Hello and welcome, everyone! My name is Kinsey, and welcome to my blog.

            Ever since I was little, I’ve been writing stories, and now, I’m an aspiring young author chasing dreams of publication. But, as every author knows, in order to market well, you’ve got to build a platform.

            So voila. Here she is. Shine Like Lights. My marketing platform/nerd-out space/consistency practice/networking area.

            We’re going to be discussing my writing projects and process, my thoughts on literature, book recommendations, the odd nerdy random topic that has caught my interest, quotes, Bible verses, opinions, history, short stories, Truth in a dark world, and so much more, and hopefully we’ll get to know each other along the way. My hope is that you will engage with these topics, and that one day, this will become the basis for a larger platform for Christian creatives of all types.

You’re going to learn that I waver between American and British spelling (half of what I read is European, so can you blame me?). And that my sentences tend to run on. And that I rabbit-hole. I apologize now.

If you’re still around after that slapdash intro, well, I have no responsibility for any possible side effects of reading my posts. If you find that you’ve been infected with the nerd bug, it’s not my fault. If you experience severe amusement and laugh up a kidney, it is not my fault either, especially since I’m probably not that funny. (note: if you are allergic to satire, run now.)

However, if you do finish a post feeling inspired/hopeful/intrigued/vaguely-amused, then I certainly will take credit for that. That’s the point of this blog, after all. I want to share the wealth of my squirrel-like attention span and all the crazy random things that fascinate me. I intend to showcase the light side of a chaotic world and remind people that life isn’t one big Pit of Despair. Humor and hope exist, people.

So yeah. Welcome to SLL.
